Word of the year

March 19, 2020

2020 is here in full force.

This year is one for the books, now I am sure you hear many people say "this is my year", but for the last 3 years I have had 1 main focus. My babies. Over the last 3 years we have either been trying to get pregnant or been having babies.

Now that our family is complete, this is a year for me. I am your #1 gal for having a list of ideas.. someday I want to do this or that but never pull the trigger because I get in a routine--man do I love routines. This year I am working on stepping out of my routine, and PUSHING myself to try new adventures I have always dreamed of.

If you guessed it, your right...my word of the year is push.

I want to push my self both professionally and personally. I want to pursue that list of dreams and push myself to concur them.

Now, I am a Rachel Hollis lover. I started following her in late 2018 right after our sweet girl was born. It was a new venture in my life changing from a very corporate "work until you die" mindset, to having a family.

I know that I am not going to be able to be the best mom, best wife, best co-worker, best friend, best volunteer at every event. With this, I have slimmed down my "yes". I don't go to wives group every month, and I don't say yes to every travel opportunity for work, because I know I will spread myself too thin. I know what my goals are for this year, and saying no to opportunities and friendships that don't align with what my goals and initiatives are is tough, but it's what is best for me and my family.

I am going to push forward with what aligns with my dreams. I wouldn't be writing this blog post, or be a co-founder today if I didn't have this focus. It's okay to say no and focus on the right yes.

Push for Wed Design Co. to be successful
Push for this blog to reach women who need it most
Push to spend dedicated time with my kids (5-7:30 everyday if you are wondering)
Push to have 1 date night a month with my husband
Push to be a successful Account Manager
Push to be a mentor to my collages guiding them to find success in the work place

These are just some examples of this mindset that I am looking at. If you have never had a word before sit down and write out what you want to see in your life in 5-10 years and what your goals are for 2020. Normally there is a theme. Pick a word that better represents what you want and post it somewhere you can see it every day as a reminder.

You can do it!
