Gender Reveal Party

March 05, 2020

We were so excited to introduce a girl to our family. All the signs truly pointed to a boy. I myself, was the first girl in our family of cousins, and now Mila-Grace is the first girl in this set of "cousins" as well.

My husband, as you may or may not know is in the Military and a Police Officer. I let him pick how he wanted to announce the gender. My father lives just outside of town in NW Iowa so, we decided to throw a small outdoor party at his house on a gorgeous Spring day.  Our goal for the announcement was to have a large color of "smoke". In order to do so, we put 5lbs of chalk with tannerite in a wrapped box.

As you get to know me, you'll recognize I have a very Type A personality and ALWAYS have a back up plan when having an outdoor party. Here in Iowa, we never know what the weather is going to bring! As a back up plan, we had a gender reveal balloon to pop with colored confetti inside!

Boy or Girl no one knew!

To decorate the party I went with the traditional Pink and Blue theme. Most of the decorations I purchased from Amazon, Target or Party City. Everything from Amazon is linked below!

My dress, like most of my maternity clothing was from Amazon. A dress that I often dressed up for meetings with a blazer and heels or in this instance dressed down with a jean shirt- tied in the front. Perfect for a small back yard get together.

Food: Trail Mix, Fruit Cups, Scotcheroos, and Sugar Cookies
Drink: Pink Lemonade and Blue Punch
My dress: Floral Dress
Food containers: White food trays, Punch containers
Decor: Napkins, Blue and Pink table covers, Gender Reveal Balloon, Gold Plates, Pink and Blue Necklaces, and Buttons
